Our Winter Piano Recital is tomorrow! I can hardly wait to watch it with everyone! The pandemic has caused us to re-imagine how we do many things in our life, from work, school, play, and even music lessons. With that being said, I wondered what format we could do for the Winter Christmas Recital. I thought about using FaceBook Watch, or FaceBook Live, or YouTube, but what would be fun and easy? I decided to do a recital on Zoom, but with all the music pre-recorded. So each student sent me one or two videos of themselves playing their Christmas song and their other song for the recital. Next, I took all the videos and made a recital program and uploaded everything into YouTube. It was a blast making preparing all this! Then, I sent everyone an invitation with a Zoom link for them to share with their family and friends. I will share my screen with everyone and watch the YouTube video! One other fun thing we are going to do is a Scavenger Hunt while the recital is going on. Each student told me what their object is, which is supposed to be “hidden in plain sight”. Everyone will have to figure out from a list of all the objects which object belongs to each person!
